Q.Making a garland

Zone 49677 | Tfaulk9123 added on January 27, 2016 | Answered

I am getting married in September and I wanted to make some green garlands to lay on the tables. I was wondering if there is a vine or something I could grow myself to use? I need something that will hold up well so I can make the garlands the day before. I live in central Michigan.

There are vines you can certainly use to create garlands for your event, but time may be an issue for you plants to grow enough usable plant material by the required date.

Some suggestions for your growing zone:
Hops
Honeysuckle
Climbing Hydrangea
Kiwi
Trumpet Vine
Bittersweet
Virginia Creeper.

You may want to see if any friends or neighbors are growing any of these plant materials and may want to share with you for your special day.
