Q.Majesty Palm
Hi, I bought a majesty palm plant from a locate corner store (it was outdoors) earlier this summer and I just can’t seem to do anything right. it is around 6ft tall and rather large, I repotted it with a mixed cactus soil, potting mix and perlite, the pot is 14″ and a drainage hole. I am unsure about how much water to give it, it is getting brown tips but also some leaves are Turing yellow then brown. I have been watering it once a week but it has begun to get this white mold on top of the soil which is a sign of over watering and the brown tips are a sign of under watering so I am quite confused. I have already lost around 4 leaves already since I got it. It is placed in indirect light. I am not sure what l can do I am afraid that it is just going to get worst overtime and there is nothing I can do about it. If you could give me some advice id really appreciate it, I am trying my best but I am no expert.

Brown tips also can be a sign of low humidity, under or overwatering. Majesty palms are kind of tricky. You have to find the right watering between over and underwatering. They like most soil, but not waterlogged. They also need high humidity. Here is more:
