i would like to ask you if its normal what i have on my magnolia trunk. This tree is about 30 years… not sure exactly. I moved in this house with a magnolia a year ago and saw an orange something just in root of a trank. here is a photo .

I don’t see anything concerning in your image. Lichen and moss are not harmful to the tree.
Your tree may have had injuries from lawn mowers or trimmers over the years, but I don’t see wounds or signs of disease.
