Now there are borers in the trunk. What can I spray that won’t be harmful to animals? This tree flowered this summer but now is having trouble. Can I seal the tree after I spray?

In mild cases of tree borers there is chemical treatment, but generally in cases that have severe damage the tree cannot be saved.
