Magnolia flowers

When the flowers come out on my magnolia tree, which is in a tub, there are brown marks on the flowers. Why is this?

Assuming that you have a spring-blooming type of magnolia, it’s most likely coming from frost damage or it may have been bruised by something hitting or brushing up against the petals. It shouldn’t be a major problem for the plant itself.
