Magnolia

Question

I have a magnolia tree with large pink flowers and after it blooms it drops spikes, not pods with seeds in them. I have tried to research what they are called and to see if they are seeds and how to grow a new tree.

It is possible that the tree could have similar flowers, but have been misidentified when planted.
