Lower Leaves of Cucumber and Squash Plants

I planted squash and cucumber plants in a raised garden bed. I use a hose pipe to water and they have grown very well. But now the lower levels of the leaves are turning yellow and look like they are going to die or just fall off. This is also happening to several of my tomato plants. The upper portion of the cukes and squash are looking very green and healthy.  Am I watering too much or not enough?

These yellow leaves can be caused by both over and under watering. The garden really only needs about 2″ of water a week. I would recommend putting in a rain gauge to check how much water is falling on the soil and adjust watering after that.
