I am not sure just what sort of plant interests you, but low-growing flowers are geraniums, petunias, and miniature marigolds. If you like a mound-type of flower, you might try creeping Jenny as it has very small leaves and small bright-yellow flowers. Creeping Jenny is suitable for a hanging basket or rock garden.

Heather and lavender are low-growing plants as they reach about 12-18 inches tall and wide. They are plants that tolerate dry soil once they are established. However, it is important to prune the ends after blooming and to be careful not to over-water them.
