Q.Losing Leaves and Turning Light Green

Anonymous added on April 19, 2011 | Answered

This bush is about ten years old. A month ago it started changing color (branches and leaves) to a light pea green color and the leaves began to drop. What is happening, and can I save it? The other bush is ten feet away and not affected.

It sounds like a nutrient deficiency, most likely nitrogen, but it could be a micro nutrient as well. I would fertilize the plant with a complete, but nitrogen heavy fertilizer. You may also want to get the soil tested to better identify what the nutrient lack exactly is.
