Loquat tree’ s trunk hollow and l aves dropped. No fruit. What is the problem?

My loquat FRE has dropped all its leaves, no fruit production. We have had a very dry spell. I did water it. And finally just dug it up. The best snide the trunk it was hollow. Last year there was good production. What would you say was the problems!?

Fire Blight is a disease that can kill the tree quickly from cankers that often occur.
