Q.Looks Like Wild Cucumber

these volunteer plants/weeds started last year and came back this year. they look like wild cucumbers but fruits are smooth not spiny like pictures, about 2-3 inches oval, look almost like small watermelons for several days then turn yellow and most fall off vine, cut green one open and it looks and smells like cucumber when they turn yellow they almost smelled like melon, still look like cucumber, flesh and small seeds in middle. can anyone tell me what it is? If you need pictures I will have to get some here to help me

Unfortunately, without pictures I will not be able to tell you what it is.

Likely, it is a member of the cucumber genus, Cucumis. The leaves should be pointed, and not lobed, as a watermelon will be.

Treat it like you would a cucumber, and you may get some fruit from it, though it could likely be open pollinated with anything else in the same genus. Regardless of what it is, it will be edible. Whether it is palatable or not will be open for debate!
