Little Gem Magnolia Shrubs

My lawn care company did my spring clean up and trimmed the lower branches off of my two year old magnolia shrubs. Guess they thought they were supposed to be trees. I have them planted next to my deck and have been growing them as a screen. Help! Will the lower branches grow back? What can I do to encourage that?

Your Gem Magnolia can be pruned at a hedge or clipped back to the trunk to grow a more tree like plant.

New sprouts will likely still grow from the trunk, you can choose to let them continue to grow to help fill in your tree again.
