However, after buying my lumber I found out that in the NW, they treat it with stain to make it look like redwood. What can I line the wood with that is not bad for you?

I have used a roofing product called ice and water shield, It is available at any building supply, home depot, lowes, ect. It will stick on if it is warm and will last many years.
