Lime Tree Problem

I bought my lime tree and put in a ceramic pot in May. It is flowering really well and has many new shoots on it. There are also a couple of limes growing. I live in southern Texas.

The problem is the new leaves have turned a silvery color and are curling up and it looks like they are dying. There are also what looks like some milky white crystals on some of them. We are going to plant it in the ground this next spring, and I would like to get rid of this problem first. Can you suggest what to do?

This sounds like a pest infestation. The silvery color and white substance may actually be caused from a pest called scale. This article will help:
