Lime Tree

I purchased a lime tree this year from Lowe’s. It has produced several limes but they all have a very thick hull and no juice. The pulp in each is very small as though they are not developed yet. But the limes are large in size and the longer I leave them on the tree the larger they get. And the thicker the hull gets. Why are the hulls so thick?

Thick skin normally indicates too much nitrogen. I would add a phosphorous rich fertilizer to balance this out. This article will help:
