Q.Lilac Trees

Zone Greater London EN4 | gillwragg added on May 4, 2017 | Answered

I have 2 lilac trees ( they are bigger than bushes). They are flowering beautifully at the moment at the top. Lower down they are very woody with no leaves. How should these be pruned?

Common lilacs can get that way with age. They sometimes become more tree-like than shrub-like. This article can help you prune a lilac for it's best appearance
