Q.Lilac Bushes

Zone sandown,NH zone 5 | Landscaper added on June 9, 2020 | Answered

Have had lilacs for almost 30 years….first year I had very few blooms although bushes are healthy. Could I have trimmed bushes at the wrong time? We had beautiful weather early April and I did a little trimming. I live in southern NH, zone 5. Thanks for all your tips.

This should be done in very early Spring. Pruning late is the most common reason for failure to flower.
