Q.Lilac Bush Withering

Anonymous added on April 24, 2011 | Answered

I have a lilac bush that has been at my home for over eight years. The last three springs in a row, right before the buds burst open and flower, they turn brown and so do the leaves, wilting like the tree has died. I see no bugs on it. I am so upset after three years. What is it, and what do I do? I live in Washington state.

Your tree may simply be in need of some trimming. Here is an article that you may find helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/lilac/pruning-lilac-bushes-when-to-trim-lilac-bushes.htm
