Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have a lilac bush planted in full sun that has been planted 5 to 6 years. It is still only a few inches taller than when planted. The leaves look healthy, but each year it buds and they never open.

It sounds like it may be lacking nutrients and/or water. Provide a phosphorus rich fertilizer and increase watering to the bush. How is the soil where it is planted? Is it clay heavy? It may need to be amended with compost.
