Lightning Hit Tree

Question

I have a tree that got hit by lightning. Is there anything I can do to repair the bark? Also, there is a large hole in the tree. Do I need to fill that area with something that will heal the tree?

As far as the hole, leave it be. If you fill it in, it can cause more damage than good.
