Lifting warm weather plants

Last year I lifted many dahlias but only 10% weren’t rotten. I’ve been doing this for years and they were very clean and dry when I boxed them up and placed in my garage. I reside in Maryland and I’m wondering if I should be doing anything differently?

These are pretty picky with how they like to be stored. Almost any change will cause them to rot. This article will guide you to storing these properly:
