The bark of some of my trees are covered with layers of gray stuff and they are peeling off. Please have a look at attached photo for more clarification. What is this . Are they dying? This question was asked earlier but i think the photos were not clear. Do you think i need to take them out ? Are they going to spread the fungus to other parts of garden. I am really worried so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ah, that is a nice, clear photo! These are very short lived trees. They are very likely to contract infections, and by the time it is treated, fully, the tree will be old.

Don't peel the bark, though. This will destroy its nutrient transport layer, which is just under the bark. No bark means no nutrients, and the quick death of the tree.

You can treat with a little wettable sulfur and dolomitic lime, according to all packaging instructions. It will prolong the, already, short life of the tree.
