Q.Length of Time for Caladiums to Sprout

Anonymous added on April 30, 2011 | Answered

I just planted over 75 caladiums bulbs (they are the small ones). I live in northern Florida and the weatheris 85 during the day and 65 at night. How long will it be before I see them sprouting?

While caladium bulbs require warm soil temps in order to sprout, this does not seem to be a problem for your location. On average, bulbs sprout within a week or two if they have been stored for any period of time, as dormancy is a natural part of their life cycle. The lesser storage time, the longer they take to sprout.
