Lemon Tree Question

We just bought a house and it had a lemon tree. Is there anything I should be looking for in the lemons before eating them? Do lemons get parasites in the fruit like apples do when they are not sprayed?

I couldn’t imagine anything being able to live inside any citrus fruit. I would definately wash the fruit before use. Enjoy your tree.
