Lemon/Lime

My sister-in-law thinks that limes and lemons are the same. She thinks that if you want a lime, you pick it when it’s green, and if you leave it on the tree longer, it will turn yellow and be a lemon. I told her I’d never heard of that! Is this true?

Yes and no. Yes, in the sense that limes are, in fact, picked while green and are yellow once they’ve fully matured. However, limes and lemons are two different fruits from two different trees.
