Q.Left Over Poinsettia

Zone 75119 | Anonymous added on December 22, 2021 | Answered

I received a poinsettia for Xmas last year. I kept it alive until leaves fell off in may. Then i cut it back, and it grew back twice its size. However, the leaves are still green. Will they ever turn red? Thanks

It won't turn red without special treatment. They need 12 hours of complete darkness at night for several weeks. This might mean covering it with a box or paper bag at night. But during the day it needs bright light. If you have a room that isn't used at night you can move it there for several weeks.
