Q.Leaves On Big Date Plam Are Getting Yellow, Not Sure What Is Its Problem.
I have moved to my house 6 months ago (Sacramento California), I have a big Date Palm tree in my front yard. First its leaves were green and looking good. During winter season was not watering it much. Then it started getting yellow. Its Trunk started to dry out, growing cracks near the root. Leaves have brown dots I guess. Not sure if I am not watering it enough! ( Now I am watering it 2 times a week regularly) Not sure if its soil need fertilizers or maybe kind of fungus. I do not know. I attach a few pictures to help identify its issue.

Established date palms shouldn't need supplemental watering. You may be watering too much now. A soil test would determine if it is low on nutrients, such as potassium or magnesium, which can cause yellowing. Avoid watering the leaves when you water, which can lead to fungal spots.
