
rlempson, can you possibly please re-post again and include: the name and variety of the plant, age of the plant, sun/shade conditions in spring/summer under which it is planted, the type of soil it has, overall health status of the plant and its leaves, and information about your watering/fertilizing regime. It is common for some plants to drop foliage at this time. Also, some types of plants like hollies for example, have evergreen and deciduous cultivars. Some plants also drop foliage when the leaves have leaf fungal issues (think: roses).
