i just re-potted this tree seedling .
and found that leaf edges yellowed a few days later .

what is the cause?

Because the yellowing and browning are starting from the leaf tips and edges, the cause is likely one of the problems discussed in this article:

Make sure the soil is well drained and that water draining out through the drainage holes is discarded so it does not absorb back into the soil- that can cause salt buildup. Also avoid overfertilizing, because excessive fertilizer can “burn” the plant, causing yellow or brown leaf edges.
