2 years ago I relaid my lawn double digging and putting ornamental stones in the ditches. This was what I replaced my original lawn with. I now find that my garden floods in one area and although I know we have had a particularly wet winter, I don’t think is the cause. Any suggestions as to how I can over come this problem? I did tine it every six inches with a fork before the winter set in.

You will need to examine the yard, lawn and drainage of your property.

Is the water being directed into the garden by slope or drainage?
Did this flooding occur before you made the landscape changes to your property?

Is the soil clay or compacted that doesn’t allow water to penetrate the soil?

Heavy winter snows or springs can certainly lead to flooding areas of a yard or garden. If the ground is frozen, the snow, ice and water will certainly pool or flood an area.

You may want to have the property and issues inspected by a landscape professional.
