Lawn Weeds and Ants

Question

My front lawn is full of weeds and black ants this year. Is there a connection? From the description, I think it may be chickweed and I don’t know what the other weed is. I tried Sevin insect killer for the ants – didn’t work. Then I tried Ortho Bug B Gone. It’s only been a couple days, so I’m not sure if that is working on the ants.
