Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comDear Sir/Madam, My lawn is usually yellow this time of year. My garden faces the south and has sandy soil. I was wondering if working a layer of pumice just under the surface (10 cm) would improve it. I don’t water the garden with tabwater and don’t have any other source of water, except rainwatter and I fairly quickly run out of that when it is as dry as this summer. Thank you for your time. Best Regards, Reijerke Feenstra

It might help some, but adding decayed organic matter, compost, to the soil will improve it quite a bit. Adding coco coir can help with moisture retention, as well.
