Late prunning

I live in Niagara Falls, New York, and on Sunday I over pruned a dogwood bush and a bayberry bush (? res bush, not a burning bush) I’m afraid I cut them too far back at this late in the season. Will they come back in the spring?

Perhaps they will come back if they're protected over the winter. Here's an article for you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/tgen/damage-from-over-pruning.htm [1]
