LANTANAS – Arizona

I bought 2 lantanas, planted one in the ground with full sun and the other is still in its original container with not as much sun. Neither bloom. I’m a new gardener.

We’ve had continually high temperatures, 106+. I water . . . maybe I shouldn’t? I’m wondering if I didn’t plant it correctly or the soil needs nutrients.

Having trouble uploading photos, but will reply with.

What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

These are very warm temperatures, even for sun loving Lantana.

Try sheltering them during the hottest park of the day. Stress from heat or water issues can inhibit flowering.
Too much nitrogen can also inhibit flowering.
