Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comMy husband just came home with 2 beautiful lantana plants. I am not quite sure about what I should do concerning the approaching cooler weather. Should I plant them in the garden, or can they be treated as an indoor plant until spring arrives? Thank you for your time.

I would hold off on outdoor planting until spring. These plants are only winter hardy in zones 8 and higher. Bring indoors before frost and place them in an east- or west-facing window in a cool room. Water just enough to keep plants from drying out completely, and do not fertilize while plants are in this not-quite-dormant period. Set back outdoors in spring when nighttime temperatures remain consistently above 55°F.
