How do you winterize Lantana? Do you cut it back, and how far? Mulch?

Lantana varieties are winter hardy in gardening zone 8 and warmer, or possibly zone 7 and warmer. In zone 7, mulching over the roots is a good idea. In colder zones, lantana is not winter-hardy and can only be grown as an annual.
