lace type leaves on fig tree

We bought a 3 year fig tree last autumn and kept it frost free until early April. Once out in the open it flourished and we transferred it to a larger container to stand on our patio which is south facing and virtually wind free. It had one fruit at the top from very early on and this has fallen off this morning. Two of the leaves at the top of the tree have a lace type look to them where they have been “eaten” and only the outer edges and veins are still intact. Your advice would be appreciated.
