knock out roses

is it normal for the blooms to turn a pinkish color shortly after blooming a beautiful deep red?

That can be a sign of stress. But in high heat, they will do that as well. Keep them well watered and give them some kelp meal to help keep their soils home nice for them. 1/2 cup per bush.
