Q.Kiwi Bush Won’t Flower

Zone M29 7JA,manchester | Anonymous added on August 15, 2021 | Answered

My self pollinating kiwi bush which is about 7 years old and very healthy hasn’t flowered yet. I have to trim it every year as it’s so rampant,is there anything I can do to improve the chance of it flowering and producing fruit?

There are several reasons why a self-fertile kiwi will fail to fruit. Usually, it is an environmental factor, such as the need for 220, consecutive, frost-free days. It can be due to soil fertility, as well, but usually it is from overfertilization, rather than under.
