Kids and Vegetable Gardening

I will have my nephews (7 and 10) this summer. Want to have something for them to “call their own. ” What vegetables would be good to plant that will harvest within a 6-8 week period? We are located in Fullerton, Calif. Temps can range from 85-95. Thank you.

Radishes are fun and quick. Cherry tomatoes are also quick growers.
