Keeping Squirrels and Birds Out of Small Garden Space

Question

We have masses of squirrels at our home because of large trees all over the area. I planted a small garden with some seeds and plants. Birds and squirrels are a problem. I don’t want to trap them but want to be rid of them or at least keep them out of my garden. What is a person to do that doesn’t have gardening skills?
