Q.Kale in the garden

Zone Hartley, Iowa 51346 | DebPelletier added on June 22, 2016 | Answered

I was wondering what does it mean when flowers start growing in the kale? Are you supposed to pull them out or leave alone? Also, after I pick the kale, will it grow back?

Your plants have bolted or gone to seed.

This is generally caused by warm temperatures.

Harvesting is best done before your plant goes to seed.
