Kadota fig limb

We moved to Hesperia, CA and I wanted a limb from the Kadota tree at home where we lived in Redlands, Ca. I want to root it and make a new tree. Should I remove the leaves? A fig has already grown on it. The limb is about 4 feet long with 2 inch width.

Propagation of a Fig Tree is generally from cuttings.
The branch that you are referring too would not be suitable to root.
