Jerusalem Cherry

What animal might eat the berries off my Jerusalem Cherry from a pot on my back deck? I had a plant loaded with red cherry berries last night that are gone this morning. They are too big for a bird to eat them. Would a snake eat them?

A snake would not eat them. Many birds find them a tasty treat. The berries are toxic to dogs, cats, horses, and humans, but wildlife seem to tolerate it. So keep it away from pets and kids.
