Hi Ingrid , those pesky bugs look like aphids , they are my greatest nemesis right now ! Fighting them for weeks now on my roses. They suck the sap out the leaves so they turn discoloured and then fall off. Best solution is soapy water or neem oil. Just use liquid dish soap with water in a spray bottle , I mix about half a teaspoon approx with 800ml to a litre of water in a spray bottle and then just try to spray the bugs directly , this will kill them on contact but has no residual affect for the next ones that come, it is good for controlling the population though. Next is neem oil, mix approx a tablespoon of neem oil into about a litre of water in another spray bottle. This solution can be sprayed over the leaves and under the leaves are important ! That's where the hide usually , or on new growth and and flower buds. Spray neem every 3 days for the first couple weeks then as you see less bugs start spraying weekly then hopefully a month apart until no bugs found fingers crossed. They are relentless and sneaky so check your plant regularly. Hope this helps , also try your soap solution and neem solution separately on one leaf first to make sure your plant is not sensitive to the concentration of the mixtures. Happy aphid killing .....
