Japanese sky pencil

I am modifying a church garden and want to use 3 sky pencil holly bushes that will be in full sun
In zone 9. One site said that it needs to be protected from heavy sun in this zone. If that is true I have to find something else of that shape for this zone.
Can you tell me if the sun will be too much and if so can you recommend something else that is evergreen and that shape.
Thank you

Yes, in your zone they can grow in morning sun and afternoon shade.

I would suggest talking with your County Extension Office for a list of conifers or evergreens recommended for your region.
Visit local garden centers and greenhouses for local advice and plants.
