Q.Japanese Red Leaf Maple Seed Germination
I live in Calaveras County California. My maple produces seeds in the Spring. In about a month from now I pick them and plant them. No stratification. They sprout within a few weeks and grow at a rapid rate turning into beautiful seedlings. I also have Autumn Glory maples that also produce seeds and I plant them as I do my Red Leafs, isn’t this unusual as everything I read talks about Fall producing maples and requirements for stratification.

Yes, that is unusual. They generally require a cold treatment to germinate. By not doing so, it usually reduces the germination rate. So you have been lucky! Here is more:
