Q.Japanese Maple Emperor 1 Tree Damage From Animal. How Can I Save It
an animal has damaged my Japanese maple badly, it has girdled halfway around the base of the trunk and some of the branches. I have since put a tree protector around it to prevent anymore damage. is there anything else I can do to try and save it? or should I just take it back to the nursery and get my half refund and buy a new one?

You would have to ask your nursery if animal damage is covered under warranty. Most of the time it is not.
It can be saved, since it was not fully girdled, though. Normally, protecting the area from further damage is the best way forward, but you can attempt a grafting surgery, as well.
