My husband is a tree surgeon and brought these to me yesterday. Can you help me with growth?

Japanese maple seeds, such as these, should be harvested when they turn brown on the tree - these are a little too green. I would advise your husband to revisit the tree at a later time to recover seeds when they turn brown.
