Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI planted a Japanese lilac tree about a year ago and it’s loosing the bark at the base of the tree. The tree looks healthy and is about 8 ft high. Is this a concern and should I do anything about it ?

If it is just a little bit of bark, then I wouldn’t worry much as this can be normal. If you suspect a pest, then I would Try to identify the pest. If you could send us a photo of the damage it would better help to assist you.
